It's Kind Of a Funny Story

So I remembered that when I was gonna post about baby number 3 that I was gonna share a little bit about how we found out.

Here goes...

So one day I am standing in my family room and Riley Bug struck up an interesting conversation with me out of the blue. This is how it went.

Bug: Hey Mom, you have a baby in your belly!
Me: Um, I really don't think I do....
Bug: Uh, ya you do Mom. Let me check...

She puts one hand on my belly for a half second then looks up at me very matter-of-fact like and says

Bug: Ya, you do. It is a baby brother and we are gonna name him Hiccup.

(Um, do you think we might be a little obsessed with a certain movie with dragons and scrawny dragon trainers? Maybe... I will never tell.)

She walks away. I am speechless I am pretty sure my reaction to this would have been the perfect photo opportunity. Too bad for all of you... ha

Not too long after and she gets invited to go play at a friends house down the street. I worry that she might say something. This girl is like an elephant. SHE NEVER FREAKIN' FORGETS ANYTHING!
My fears were justified. I talked to the mom of the friend the next day at the primary activity day and she said she wanted to ask me about it! HA I still had no clue if I actually was or not so I told her the truth to the best of my knowledge. I was not "expecting"

Curiosity got the better of me. Course it did. If this situation had just happened to you and you didn't run out and get a pregnancy test within 24 hours your nerves are made of stone.

(just kidding... But really why would you not?!)

Either way, I sent Dale to the dollar store to get me a pregnancy test.

I am serious about this people... NEVER spend any more than ONE DOLLAR on a pregnancy test ever again! You might think I am ghetto and you might say NEVER ( I was skeptical at first too...) but seriously they are accurate.

Now I do know that since I am only spending a dollar I am not expecting it to work miracles. Since I wasn't supposed to "start" for another few days I didn't expect it to perform to the accuracy of an EPT that apparently is a fortune teller and can tell you before your body even knows but I figured i would give it a  go.

Dale brought home 2 and I took both at the same time.

COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES! Two lines??? TWO LINES??? Was this for reals happening?? It totally was.

Positive. I run in and tell Dale and we were in such shock.

My best friend put it the best "Someone is sharing secrets with that little girl"

Secret sharing indeed!

I realized a couple days later that I had already had a pregnancy test lying around so i took that one and of course it came out the exact same way.

Positive.

Still in shock.

So to add to this Riley starts telling me I have 2 babies in my belly. Than a week later is was three.

Once it got to three I was skeptical but still a little nervous to go and have an ultrasound and have the Doc tell me Bug was right.

The Doc. said at least she got one prediction right... Haha Clearly, I heard the heartbeat. I saw the peanut. I see my belly expanding faster than it did with either girly. The baby is there. Whether or not its a boy is still up in the air for a couple more months but we will see.

Peanut

I'm Pregnant!

This little one is going to be a winter baby!
Christmas Baby to be exact.
Due Date: December 24th.

I couldn't believe it either!

Riley is very excited and asks about every 5 seconds if the baby is going to be OK.
Mak doesn't quite get it yet but every time Riley says something about the baby in my belly Mak points to my belly then points to her and then points to Riley's. I cant wait to see how she reacts when my belly gets bigger!

In A Year

In a year, Bug went from

to this...

She still will barely look at a camera.
(Who could blame her with all that candy in her hands. I wouldn't be able to look at a camera either!)

But she graduated preschool.
She did so well and it was so good for her and the perfect start to her schooling.

She made SO many new friends and found a teacher that I don't think she will ever be able to forget!

I'm proud of you Bug!
I cannot believe you are about to start kindergarten!!!!

I love it!

She was so excited and she did SO well!!

What a Mom Wants

One word- HILARIOUS!

Just A Little Story...

So I just remembered I had taken all these pictures to flaunt a {HUGE} project I had completed.
Huge pretty much refers to the importance this of project and the effect it had on my sanity.

Let me tell you a story about a blanket.

So when Dale was a very tiny human he carried around this blanket that his mom made for him from one of her mu-mu's.
(let me know if i get anything wrong!)

He attached himself to it because it was so soft.

It went with him everywhere for a very long time.
(I wont say how long for fear that Dale might kill me ;) )

It was his lovie.

He carried it around on his head so it was always in VERY good condition.

Seriously how cute is that?

So My M-I-L  found this blankie when Riley Bug was very little and gave it to us thinking that maybe she would love it as much as Dale did but by this time Riley had already found her own lovie. Her beloved Pig. (that she still cant go anywhere with out!)
So she liked it but it wasn't her number 1.

Then Mak was born. She fell in LOVE with it!
She is our little Linus, carrying it around wherever she goes!
She has lovingly named it her "Mimi"
One day she left it too close to the dog cage and the dog pulled it into its cage and gashed its claws into it!

I was SO mad!!

Even more mad than Dale.

It had survived for 27 years in perfect condition and we ruin it within a year and a half....

This is what it looked like afterward...

These don't really do it justice. there were huge holes and little holes everywhere! It looked bad.
I washed it up and she used it like that for a couple weeks until I could get everything ready.
Mak cant live very long, at all, without it and so this was gonna have to be a marathon project. I found the extra quilt backing that my M-I-L had given me, that made the original blanket (really lucky!) and then my M-I-L found some fabric that wasn't the same kind but had a very similar feeling to it.

I used the original blanket to size out the quilt backing and started cutting the blue squares out.
I did it very scientifically ;)
I did this all a week before hand and then knew that the coming Saturday would need to be a sewing day.
So as soon as Mak woke up in the morning I snuck away with her Mimi and started cutting it up.
I cut up every bit of salvageable material I could get.
This is the part that made me the MOST nervous!
I had JUST enough squares!!

Then I started sewing!!!
Square by square.
Strip by strip.
Front to back.

It took me SEVEN AND A HALF HOURS!!!

(20 min. of that getting the tension right on my brand new sewing machine. It was its maiden voyage. Which made me MORE nervous than I already was.)

What if after all this work she didn't like it, wouldn't attach herself too it because it wasn't the same.

I was a wreck!
Ask Dale.  No, Don't......

It was finished...

I was very proud of it but would it pass Mak's test.

Oh, did it ever!!

She was so excited when she saw it! Picked it up like she hadn't seen it in weeks and has never forgotten it since!

Relief!

I Dare You!

I dare you not to laugh!

This happened a couple weeks ago after we had put her in time-out for giving Riley Bug a Smack down!
Seriously, she is VICIOUS!
Don't let her adorable face and cute tiny voice fool you!

Song Challenge- A mash up!

K so here is the thing...
I am lazy.
Also, this is sort of time consuming trying to find videos. And again, I am lazy.
ha!
So I am just gonna do a big long list mash up!

Day 17 – A song that you hear often on the radio

Honestly I don't ever really listen to the radio anymore. But when I did listen to the radio a song I used to hear all the time was

Katy Perry- California Gurls.

Day 18 – A song that you wish you heard on the radio
I hate the radio so my only answer is.

ANYTHING THEY DON'T PLAY!
;)

Day 19 – A song from your favorite album

My Favorite album lately is Sara Bareilles new album : Kaleidoscope Heart.
My favorite song from the C.D is
Machine Gun.

Such a fun song!

Day 20 – A song that you listen to when you’re angry
I don't like to listen to angry music when I am angry. I do like to listen to upbeat and fun music when I am angry. It balances me out. So when I am really upset I will listen to

She & Him: Don't Look Back

Day 21 – A song that you listen to when you're driving
Oh man! This one is hard. I don't much like to listen to the same thing over and over again. The girls do but I don't. My girls have 3 songs that They love and could listen o on repeat if I let them! I don't! ;)
Mak HATES car rides and there is ONE song that will calm her down no matter what!
The Beatles- Hey Jude

Day 22 – A song that you work out to
Um,  do I work out???
Maybe sometimes I guess and when I do I like to listen to upbeat but not pushy music. My workout music is probably way different than others. I want to be distracted by the words and not feel over worked by the beat. I like to listen to
Ingrid Michaelson or Honorary Title

Day 23 – A song that you want to play at your wedding
George Strait- Cross My Heart
We did play and we did dance!

Day 24 – A song that you want to play at your funeral
I really don't even want to think about this. So I wont.

Day 25 – A song that makes you laugh
Owl City- Dental Care.
Seriously if you guys have never heard this please go find it somewhere. It hilarious!

Day 26 – A song that you can play on an instrument
Does "Chopsticks" count???? Haha
I don't play any instruments but I can sing. So if that count I would say
All of them ;)

Day 27 – A song that you wish you could play
I would love to learn to play the piano so I could play
Mae - We're so far away

Day 28 – A song that makes you feel guilty
Um... What is this supposed to mean? I have no idea...

Day 29 – A song from your childhood
Beatles- I wanna hold your hand.
I soaked in SO many different styles of music growing up. Except for late 70's music.. I never heard much of that but I have remedied that... Sort of. But we ALWAYS listened to the oldies station in the car with my parents and The Beatles were always my Favorite!

Day 30 – Your favorite song at this time last year
I am gonna be really Predictable here and say this
Airplanes-B.O.B. feat. Hayley Williams

And Scene.....

Day 16: A Song you used to love but now you hate

Modest Mouse: Float On

After a while the shaky labored sound of their voices in this song with the notes all dragged out just BUG.

Day 15: Redo

So AGAIN I couldn't find a video that would work in the us or post to blogger so if you are so inclined you can look it up!

I doubt any of you are that invested... Haha I guess though you could just be curious.

This really took a while for me. Dale and I have been scouring our iTunes library searching for a song that describes me. He thought of this one but didn't think I would like his suggestion but i had been thinking it too! ha ha so here it is.

A song that describes me is : Kate Nash- Mouthwash

I love listening to it mostly because I am a HUGE fan of that accent she has. But also the song is really fun! ha ha

Call Me Crazy One More Time...

My new favorite pictures of the girls.

Don't worry. Her buck teeth aren't always that prominent. ha

Don't worry. She is ALWAYS this goofy.

Day 15: Song Challenge

Day 15 is supposed to be a song that describes me. I can NOT think of one. I have tried. I don't know why I cant think of one... but that's why I am a day off on this.

Maybe I need help with this one.

I think I know what Dale would pick. After all, it is the song he has programmed to be his ring tone for when I call. He says it describes me perfectly but that song is in Portuguese and he is biased and the song is from the view point of the boy in love so that doesn't help me.

I am trying to think of some awesome funky song and not a cheesy one but I cant think of anything.

I will put some more thought into this. we will see. Maybe I will do this one at the end and just keep going on with the challenge...

Day 14: song Challenge

Day 14: A song no one would expect me to love

Metallica - Nothing else matters.

Growing up I got introduced to a huge variety of music. Metallica was one of those bands played often in our house in one or more of my brothers rooms. My all time favorite of Metallica's is Enter Sandman but I couldn't find a video for that song that could play on blogger. Any Metallica song will pretty much do though. I find the music relaxing. Especially this song...

Day 13: Song Challenge

Day 13: My guilty pleasure song.

I couldnt find a video that worked on blogger so I guess you will just have to find it yourself. hahaha
I refused at first to listen to this song simply because of principal ;) but i heard it somewhere and I had to get it and put it on a cd. The girls love it and it cracks me up to see Mak sing along with it. It really is too cute. I will put a video of that up soon.

The song?

Justin Beiber- Baby.

Ya, I just said that....
