Say.............

Dale, Riley and I had a GREAT Christmas! We opened our Jammie's and some family gifts on Christmas eve and then went to Dales parents house stayed the night and started Christmas off EARLY!!! On Christmas eve while we were having dinner and we decided to take a picture... Instead of saying "say Cheese" Dale told everyone to "Say...... CAJSAS PREGNANT!!!" THAT'S RIGHT! We are expecting a baby on August 23rd! We are so excited! Dales Family had already called it and figured we were gonna tell them on Christmas day. At least we surprised them with the day! ha ha After we opened all of our presents at Dales parents Christmas morning we went to my parents. That picture was a little more fun! I have a huge family so there was NO WAY we were gonna try to get everyone in the picture so it was just me and my Mom! She had the best reaction! It took her a second but once she got it, it was really funny! Riley had a blast at Christmas. She has been asking to open all the presents for a while now so she was having a hay day actually being able to do it! I feel bad though..... she keeps asking to open presents but now there isn't any! We had a great time being with family and sharing our news! Hope everyone had a great Christmas as well!!!

New members to the Whipple family!

Meet Banana and Orange! Friday was Dales birthday and we couldn't do much cuz he had to work. So on Saturday we had a family Dinner at Red Robin and My brother Randy's present to Dale was these two lovely colored fishies! Riley is in love! ha ha She loves to feed them and watch them swim! Uncle Randy always gets us the best gifts (enter sarcasm here) We weren't planning on getting a pet of any kind anytime soon but Randy made it happen! They are pretty goldfish and we don't have to potty train them and Riley loves them so I guess its as good as it gets for now!

Now a little shout out to Dale happy late birthday.. I love you and I am so grateful for all you do for our family! You are the best! I probably wont be on the computer at all until after Christmas so until then....MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!! Hope its a great one!!!

Naked Noo Noo and a Lady In Waiting!

Yep! Its ONLY 7:30 and I still have THREE HOURS till my Knight in Shining(work clothes) armor comes riding home in his blue chariot! It feels like he has been gone ALL DAY! I wake up...... he leaves.... He comes home.....we go to bed! this might not be exactly true, but its what it feels like when you have been living through a day that feels like it has lasted a month!!

I am lost in thought about the moment my Knight comes home and I receive true loves *first* kiss.......... and I hear a little *Tinkle* My cute little naked noo noo princess runs in to use her lovely pink throne! Afterwards, when we have cleaned her throne for more usage, she begs me to read her a story fit for a princess, climbs on my lap and gives me a big royal *squeeze* I wonder, how many of these tales fit for a princess I must read to make time pass more quickly! There probably isn't an answer. The time spent will be fun and it will be spent well, but it does not mean time will pass by quickly! (unfortunately)I will look up at the clock hoping that my dreams have come true and all the time had passed and it will have only amounted to 5min. Well, More tales to read, more time to pass, and more time spent cleaning the Princess Noo Noo's throne! Wish me well!!!

Our Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving started off EARLY!! We all woke up early to go watch Dale play football with his family! He had a lot of fun! And he is still feeling it! ha ha

Than later on in the afternoon we went to my sisters house to have Thanksgiving lunch with all my family! Its always fun to have the whole family in one spot! Than a couple hours later we went to Dales aunt and uncles house to have Thanksgiving dinner with his family. After we had Dinner and visited for a while we decided to go across the street from his aunt and uncles to a little park they have in their neighborhood. Dales Dad came with us to play and Riley had a blast going down the slides and having "Papa" there to play with her!

She loved going down the slides and after a couple tries she got brave enough to go down without Dale giving her a nudge off!

Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving and that you are all ready for CHRISTMAS! YAY!

"The Bug"

Not Much is going on at the Whipple house lately but I needed something for this blog!!!!! So I thought I would just tell everyone a little more about Riley's life! I was lying in bed this morning listening to Riley Bug wake up and hearing the cute things she says to herself when she thinks no one can hear her. She talks about her Daddy whom she loves very very much she pretends she is Dora and Piggy is Boots. When she is finally ready to get out of Bed she pretends her Daddy is Charlie and she is Lola saying, "I am ready Chawlie" (she even puts in the British accent) And says it over and over until I can force my feet to touch the floor and get her out of bed! Since Her Daddy worked early today so he could get home early for the family festivities happening tonight I got to be the one to give her the very first hug of the morning! I love that hug, she squeezes so tight and tells you she loves you and gives you a kiss, and Dale is always the one to receive it! It makes it a little easier to get up when I know I am gonna get that hug! But before I get the hug she asks me " I go see daddy??" I reply "Sorry Hunny Daddy is at work" She says back "Go see 'em!... What gonna wear?" She loves Dale so much! The first person she really wants to see in the morning is Him and anything less is a disappointment. Some might think this is sad but I LOVE it! I love that Dale is such a good Daddy to her that she loves him that much!!!! I really am so lucky! But that's another post........ Every day when she gets out of bed she wants to go somewhere, and she loves to pick out her shirt for it. When we get her dressed she says "It's a wonderful dream!" and turns around in circles and then Grabs my hands and gets me to turn her around in circles and sing "Once Upon a Dream" from Sleeping Beauty, to her! She is quite the dreamer! And now when she wants to get really active she will introduce herself as Dora and then says "Hi Eg-Ga-Go" (diego) and we go on an animal saving adventure! Normally to save one her various Stuffed animals! Piggy has been the star a few times! we set up an obstacle course and sings all the songs! She LOVES it! And then I am tired! ha ha The other Day I was on the phone with a primary leader from our new ward and she needed some info. on Riley (her birthday and such) when she says to me "Ok so she will be three in June and will be a Sunbeam in a year!" She said it very excited...... It felt like a death sentence to me!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME MY BABY IS NOT GONNA BE A SUNBEAM....... SHE CANT POSSIBLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UGH! I told Dale what that crazy lady said to me on the phone and Dale had the same reaction!! No our "Bug" CAN NOT be getting THAT big!!!!!!!! I would love to just be ignorant to those things thank you! I don't need to be told these things! Let me deal with them as they come. Don't spring these things on me before they need to be sprung!!! Dale and I agreed that she is perfect just the way she is, and she is not going to get older anymore.... Hope that works! ha ha Its hard for us to face reality! But that's about all that's going on in our world! Hope everyone has a GREAT Thanksgiving!

You're Good at this Game...........

Mr. Whipple! I cant count the amount of times I say this to Dale! He is such a good Daddy and Husband! "You're good at this game Mr. Whipple" is the round about way I thank him for doing things here and there around the house. Mostly they are said in surprise... Not in the way that I'm surprised that he did what he did, but in the way that I was going to do them and he "Beat me to the punch!!" I didn't realize until yesterday how much I really say that and I got to thinking about how much I might take this amazing man for granted! I really don't think I give him the credit he deserves! I really could come up with a million examples of when I said this, but I will spare you the bragging! I am so lucky to have "snagged" the man I did! That's all I have to say about that! Love ya Dale!!!

This morning we went with Aunt Jamie To go get some fun family pictures! She wanted to have someone that she could test her skills on and we were willing models! We had a lot of fun out there! It was the least frustrating Picture experience we have had with Riley and we got A TON of AMAZING pictures!!!!! This is just a preview of a couple she sent me with some new fun stuff she figured out how to do!!! Dale and I LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!! We are so excited about the rest! THANKS JAMIE!! Well I have decided that since Riley was asking me to change her diaper when she got sick of it being wet and when she was poopy we would TRY introducing her to potty training again! Well I am proud to announce that this time its for real! She went potty on the potty once yesterday but it was a busy day out of the house all afternoon and we weren't really able to do more. BUT..... Today she has gone FOUR TIMES on the potty!!!! She gets REALLY excited for herself when she goes and she even went once on the potty without me telling her to sit on the potty and wait!!! We are sooo excited for her and the progress she has made in just 2 days and we are excited for Riley to be diaper free! I know I still have a lot more work to do but its an amazing start!!!!!!! YAY!!

Update: By the time we put Riley to bed she went in her potty 10 TIMES JuSt ToDaY!!! We are off to ; ilke I said, an amazing start!

Meet the Flinstones!!!

We're a modern stone aged family!!! We had a very fun night tonight! Riley loved playing with all her cousins, and going trick-or-treating around her G-ma and G-pa's Neighborhood! She did really well going up and saying "trick-or-treat" and it was so fun to hear her cute little voice say it over and over again. And also being the polite girl that she is saying a cute thank you after every piece of candy was placed in her bucket. Of course there were times when Riley wouldn't give the person who was passing out candy the chance to serve it themselves and she would grab it right out of the bucket in hand fulls! ha ha She knew what she wanted! But we had a very fun night. All of us dressed up tonight just for fun and we loved doing it! Riley and I also got some fun pictures taken from Aunt Jamie!! Thanks again I am so excited to see them! But here Is the night in rewind! (because that's how the pictures upload maybe one day I will learn to upload them backward so they come up in order! ha ha

This was my last act of digging for nummies of the night! ha ha She was so tired! A lot of excitement for one night! (and with no nap!)

Woe is me!

We bought this vacuum about 2 years ago..... It worked wonders on normal carpet! We loved it and were very happy with our purchase! Then we moved into an apartment with the worst bur bur (????) carpet A.K.A carpet from hell....excuse my french) One run on that carpet and the vacuum dies a temporary death. (or so we thought) Dale and I think that once we move to a place with "real" carpet it will work wonders again. We thought wrong! Apparently that dumb carpet ruined our lovely vacuum for good! UGH!!!!!! With Christmas season coming up and trying to make sure we can afford all gifts for everyone on our list a vacuum was the last thing we wanted to buy. I feel like this might be my fault though. I was secretly wishing it would die sometime (not quite this soon...after we were re-cooperated from Christmas maybe?) because I have a want for a Dyson (thanks Ash!) But die this soon... NOT in the plans! So now have to save my pennies and borrow vacuums (ASH??) until I can get the vacuum of my dreams! Cheesy? YES! Well I guess this is what I get for "secretly" wishing it would die! K-K-K-K-K- KARMA!!!!!!!! WOE IS ME!!!! HA HA HA

I DONT HAVE A CLUE WHAT TO DO!!!!!!!

Well, we figured out why Riley had such an easy time getting out of her bed and we fixed it so we are gonna wait a while before we are gonna switch her to a "big girl" bed! But now we have a new problem and I am stumped!!!!! She has figured out how to take her diaper off really well. Like, she will take it off by the tabs, one at a time!! She is so excited for herself when she does it so its hard not to be excited with her. So I thought that maybe it was time to TRY the potty training step again! Well sometimes she seems like it is fun for her to sit down and other times I feel like I am forcing her! I DO NOT want to push her into this it will just make it worse.....BUT she will not leave her diaper on for 2 seconds and no matter how hard I have tried for the past 3 days she will not sit on the potty when she needs to. Then I am left with pee spot after pee spot to clean up! But it just doesn't seem to phase her! I learned a little trick when I was putting her to bed and naps that I thought would work for more than 2 days! She has a problem taking off pants or shorts with a tight elastic waist band on it. She just couldn't figure out how to get it passed her big bum but that problem proved easy as of today at the end of nap time! PEE EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!! Ugh I am so frustrated because it feels to me like she is just not quite ready for the potty training but she will not leave her diaper on for 2 seconds!!!!!!!!!! HELP!

K I just found this on my sister The Diaper Divas Blog she found it on her friends blog as a kind of tag! So I figured that I would do it cuz it sounded like a fun thing to do! I looked in the 4th folder of our computer picture files and picked out the 4th photo and decided to post it! Then you give a kind of back story to it! Its not normally something I would post about but I guess I am not sure why! ha ha We were getting ready for church one day (well Riley and Dale were ready they were waiting on me of course) and Dale called me in to witness this! Now, Riley loves to be tickled lightly ALL THE TIME but I guess I never thought of ticking the face with a tie! ha ha she was almost falling asleep! She loved it! And when Dale stopped she picked up his tie and picked up his hand and forced him to do it again! So cute! Its funny what you will find when you are not thinking about ti! So I am not gonna tag any specific people but it would be fun to see other peoples random pictures!

Moo Moo Palooza!

My sister the "Diaper Diva" ( I don't know how to link) called me up a couple days ago and asked if i wanted to join her and my other sister " Sister K" to the Moo Moo Palooza this morning! So Riley and I went and tagged along. Riley was so excited to see the animals, especially the cows! It was at this farm out on Hawes Road, (did I spell that right?) that, for a day or two, lets people in free and sets up so that that kids can pet and feed the animals. Riley had a blast! She loved hanging out with her cousins and being able to run and be free for a little while! (which she totally took advantage of ha ha) I had to chase her down quite a few times and almost lost he once but she had fun and that's what it was all about! I even got interviewed by some guy from channel 12 news asking about how i felt about this being a fun thing I could do with the kids for free and be able to get together as a group and have fun! He asked about how LARGE my group was and why I was there! It was interesting to say the least. Of course the guy had no idea that I am a nervous talker and that I am not very well spoken! Poor guy..... I bet he cant use any of the interview! Just a waste of film! ha ha But other than that we had a lot of fun! Oh... it was a tad too hot but of course the kids could care less about that! Now, I didn't get very many pictures of "The Bug" (she didn't want to cooperate with me) but he Diaper Diva was always ready with her camera and got some really cute shots so check hers out to see when she will post them so you can see the rest of the bunch! But here are the ones I did get! Riley loved to pet the Bunnies there!

She really wanted to go get the horse to pay attention to her! But it never did!

The kids loved this calf! A little bit after this malling the lady that worked there told us this calf was born YESTERDAY!! So new and so fun!!!

WHAT THE......?????????

So this is ToTaLlY UnExPeCtEd!!!!! This morning Dale and I are laying in bed trying to wake up and Riley is yelling for mommy and daddy to come get her out of bed. All of the sudden she stops we don't hear anything so we figured that is was early and she decided she wanted to go back to sleep....... NOPE!!!!!!!! Dale got out of bed and went to go see if she was asleep. When he didn't find her in her room he stared looking for her elsewhere. Well he found her..... In ThE KiTcHeN!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me!!!! Dale and I were thinking about getting her in her "big girl bed" but we wanted to give her time to get used to the new apartment we moved into before springing something like that on her! Well apparently its no big deal and the month or 2 we were gonna wait is not needed! On to setting up and getting the "big girl bed" ready for her! I will keep you posted!

Rileys First haircut!!!!

Well we went to get Riley's First haircut today!!! It was long and stringy and none of it was one length!! It was war from the very beginning! She loved the little race car seat they had and wanted to get in it immediately....until she realized what it was for! Then she couldn't wait to get out! When the lady tried to put the "Cape" on her she was not having any of that!!! There were moments of calm. We we gave her a Lollipop to distract her.......... that worked for about a minute! Then we had to get her to look down so she could get the back hairs that did not work out so well! Then she started cutting her bangs! That was the WORST part! Now she could see what was going on and she didn't like that AT ALL.

So the other lady that was there started blowing bubbles! Again, that worked for about a minute! I tried to calm her down by holding her hand but she is too strong and every time I would get close to her she would lunge at me and hold on for dear life! I was actually thinking at one point we would have to resort to cutting her hair with me holding her! She would not let me go! So I learned to just stay away!!! But eventually she was done! Hairy and all (because of course that cape was NEVER gonna touch her body!!) But it turned out SOOOOOOOOO CUTE!! I Am very happy with how it turned out!

She loves it as well! Every now and then we would catch her shaking her head to feel the lack of hair she has and how well it moves now! Its too cute! Thanks Marisa for the cute pics of Madisyn to give me some courage and motivation! I am so happy I did it!!! Look at that Cute little girl!!! I just cant stand it!!!

Too Cute!

Riley and I were sitting on the couch watching Charlie and Lola a Cute little show Riley likes on Playhouse Disney. For Chrlie and Lola it was the first day of school and they were putting their back packs on and tying their shoes and Riley decided she wanted to go to! She said "Pack Pack" walked over to where her back pack was, picked it up and handed to me to help her put it on. Next it was shoes... She said "mommy, shi shops." So she went over to the shoe bucket and got her Flip Flops and put them on. Next it was glasses. She went and found my sunglasses and had me put them on her face for her! When she was all done she said "Mommy Lets go! Go School!" She was so excited to go to school she walked to the door tryed to open it and kept yelling at me to go. "Come on Mommy" Ha ha It was too cute no shorts and all!

Fun at the movies!

YEP!!! We finally took Riley to the movies to the FIRST TIME!!! Ya I know .....why haven't we taken her before this???? Those of you who know Riley well know that she has the HaRdEsT time sitting still! More than any baby I have ever seen! But we saw that Kung Fu Panda was at the dollar theaters ( or 2 dollar theaters) and decided to finally try our luck! Dale and I had seen it before and knew it was full of action so we didn't have to worry about Riley getting bored! Well we were prepared for the worst but that was not needed! She had a blast! And we had fun right along with her! We were so excited to find out that there is another fun activity we could do as a family!

A few more little things.....

About Riley! I said last post that she is growing up so much I cant stand it and that is sooo unbelievably true........ However it is a blast and when I head off to cosmetology school next month I am gonna be missing a lot of it and thought of it is almost too much to bear! But she has done some really funny things this morning I thought I would share! I am sitting at the computer waiting for her to wake up and I finally start to hear her make some noise but I wait until she is all the way awake or I will have a very unhappy child the rest of the day. All the sudden I hear her scream "Momma Weeeeyyaaa awe you?????" translation for those of you who do not speak Riley.... "Where are you?" She yelled this twice and I thought it was the funniest thing ever! then I was getting her a bowl of cereal for breakfast and my phone rings. I have the song "Clumsy" that is on my playlist as my ringtone. I guess she has heard it enough that she knows the word! She sat there and sang along to it until I answered it! She definately keeps me entertained! And her new thing.... once I have her all dressed and have her hair done and we are ready to go she looks at herself in the mirror and says "Boo-e-foo" (translation- Beautiful) She is my little diva!! 

My Baby is sooo big!!!!!

So I decided a while ago that I would use my blog for little updates as well as big ones and to report the little things that Riley does so I can remember them. I haven't been doing this but somethings have happened the past few days that just boggle my mind!!! First.... a couple days ago I get Riley ready to leave the house so we can go run some errands. I have her all dressed and she starts talking to me...

Riley- "Mommy dwesh dwesh" 

Me-" Ya I got you dressed huh? Were gonna go bye bye."

Riley- "Bye bye? Shuuuuut shuuut" 

Me- "Ya you have a shirt on huh? Its very pretty"

Riley- (in a very frustrated voice and face) "Come oooooon Mommy"

Me -"Ok where are we going?" (I follow totally confused) She takes me into her bedroom and to her closet. She points to her dress rack in her closet and says.....

Riley- "Dwesh Mommy"  So I pull a dress down for her and she says no till I pull down the right one and says

Riley- "Weeeeeyaaaaa" ( wear in a New yorkers accent) 

Me-" You wanna wear this?"

Riley - "Weeyaa" (she doesnt say yes to anything but if she wants what you say to her she will repeat it... if not she screams)

Me- (Totally in shock!!!!!!!!!) " You are 2 and YOU ARE ALREADY PICKING OUT YOUR OWN CLOTHES!!!!!!"       NO NO NO..... SERIOUSLY , YOU HAVE GOT TO BE JOKING?? I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!!!  Why do they have to grow up soooo fast!! I cant stand it!

Second thing that happened.... We were just sitting on the couch and I am watching the olympics totally distracted by the synchronized swimmers....(ya I know) And she says something I didnt really comprehend than I guess she got frustrated of me not listening to her she started singing.... It took me a second to figure out she was singing "Eentsy Weentsy Spider" She did not miss one word! Ya they were a little weird sounding because of the accent that she has but it was Eentsy Weentsy Spider none the less.... every word and every action all by herself. SERIOUSLY????? I am having a blast watching her grow up I love every little step along the way but do they have to come so DANG FAST!!!!! My baby is almost not a baby anymore :(

On a sad note.....

I know that this normally isnt the thing you put on blogs and i hate to ruin the happy aura of the blogging world but i have some very sad news! I received a call at 9:30 tonight telling me that one of my closest friends Ashley Mortensen was hit by a car and was in very bad shape. 2 minutes later I called the person that told me back to find out what I could do and where I needed to go to be with the family. I was informed at that moment that she had not made it. They did everything they could and she just didnt pull through. She was an unbelievably happy girl! She went through life facing her family adversities with a smile on her face! She never let anything get her down! She was going to be married to the man of her dreams on September 25th and she was the happiest I had ever seen her in the many years I have known her! She was at the peak of her life! It was her time! I have never gone through something like this so  this has been hard on me but I will pull through with her soldier of a spirit on my side! She was a great friend! She was always there when I needed her no questions asked and I know that will continue! I know she is more happy now than she has been and that she is where she needs to be! I will miss her sooooooo much! I love you Ash!!!!!

FAMILY PICTURES........ FINALLY!!!!!!!

Well we FINALLY got family pictures taken! The last time we had family pictures done was when Riley was 9 Months!! ya I know..... WAAAAAAY too long ago!!!! This is actually our second attempt at pictues! The first attempt was a nightmare!! We thought we could do them outside but it was way too hot and Riley was not cooperating ONE BIT!! The pictures in the header of the blog are really the only 2 that turned out that had Riley smiling or the right lighting and so on.... The second attempt was a HUGE success. Here are some of the best ones but there are tons of other fun ones and we are actually playing around with the color with some of them so they are not all in color. But here they are . Thanks to my bro. Randy and his friend tracy for coming over and setting up the studio and taking these wonderful pictures!!! I love them!!!!
Riley would not put that stinkin' Flower down for almost the whole time! But if it got her smiling in a picture we were okay with it!!!

I think this is the only real picture Dale and I have of the two of us since our last family pictures! Most of the pictures taken are of Riley!

We started singing "Slippery Fish" to her to get her to smile at the very end. She was getting tired of picture time!
