Day 2 of the song challenge: Your least favorite song.
"If you cant say nothin' nice, dont say nothin' at all"
Worst song EVER.
Wont post a video.
Wont even make you listen to it.
Just 3 words and I wont say anything else.

30 Day song Challenge - Day One
I Have seen this challenge on a few blogs and a little on facebook and I have been wanting to do it for a while so I am just gonna do it. I like the idea of trying to search through songs and trying to find songs that fit my definition of these subjects!
I have always been told that my taste in music is a little all over the place so you might be surprised by a lot of these and you might not. My friends, while I was in high school, would turn the radio on and try to stump me with different music.
Never worked.
So here we go.
Day 01 – Your favorite song
Day 02 – Your least favorite song
Day 03 – A song that makes you happy
Day 04 – A song that makes you sad
Day 05 – A song that reminds you of someone
Day 06 – A song that reminds of you of somewhere
Day 07 – A song that reminds you of a certain event
Day 08 – A song that you know all the words to
Day 09 – A song that you can dance to
Day 10 – A song that makes you fall asleep
Day 11 – A song from your favorite band
Day 12 – A song from a band you hate
Day 13 – A song that is a guilty pleasure
Day 14 – A song that no one would expect you to love
Day 15 – A song that describes you
Day 16 – A song that you used to love but now hate
Day 17 – A song that you hear often on the radio
Day 18 – A song that you wish you heard on the radio
Day 19 – A song from your favorite album
Day 20 – A song that you listen to when you’re angry
Day 21 – A song that you listen to when you're driving
Day 22 – A song that you work out to
Day 23 – A song that you want to play at your wedding
Day 24 – A song that you want to play at your funeral
Day 25 – A song that makes you laugh
Day 26 – A song that you can play on an instrument
Day 27 – A song that you wish you could play
Day 28 – A song that makes you feel guilty
Day 29 – A song from your childhood
Day 30 – Your favorite song at this time last year
Day One:
My favorite song.
I have SERIOUS trouble trying to pin point my favorite song ever. Whenever someone asks me this question I always say "It depends." And that's true, it depends on the day it depends on at what point in my life you are asking me about but the other day I heard a song that I hadn't heard in a LONG time and I thought "I could listen to this song over and over again."
It sort-of surprised me.
And the original music video is sort-of really a tear jerker....

A Hole In A Rock
This post is so delayed.
I have been meaning to post this since..... well the day it happened.
Man, I stink at this.
The Saturday before Valentines Day, Dale took me to lunch then he took me on a hike to the Hole In The Rock.
Its a small trail in Papago Park that leads you to a fun view from a..... hole in a rock.
Self Explanatory.
Its a really easy hike and pretty short but it was still really fun to sit in it and look over the landscape and see part of the zoo.
Its funny how everything looks so ground level from up high.
I didn't get a picture of it but from one angle you can see the flight tower, at the airport, stick out like a sore thumb while the rest of the airport looks like a tiny one story building. Then if you drive through the airport (like we do almost everyday) you feel so tiny compared to the huge buildings. I love to experience different vantage points.
I look at these pictures and I notice how much my hair has grown since then.
It makes me happy. Maybe my hair isn't growing as slow as I think it is...
This is about the first series of pictures Dale and I have of each other... ever. Dale and I are pretty good at taking pictures of the girls but when it comes to us, unless its family pictures, we prefer to stay out of them... We are getting better at taking the camera and hopefully we will be able to have record that Dale and I actually participated in our life. Haha
We had a lot of fun on this date and we decided that we wanted to hike a lot more. On trails that actually pose some challenges as well! ;)
The weather was so nice that weekend and I am so glad we went.

The root of the problem
If you are a parent of a child who speaks, specifically a parent to the female gender, you know how often they are quiet: NEVER.
Riley is a girl and she is almost 5 and she has an amazing vocabulary for an almost 5 year old. The downside to this, like I said, she NEVER is quiet.
Whenever Dale and I even attempt to talk she starts calling Dale.
"DADDY! DADDY! DADDY!..." And once she finally gets his attention she will start making nonsense sentences up just so that she has something to say. Something like this....
"Well, Daddy! It was just the time that it was, don't you remember? or...
"Um, Daddy do you know what it was like all times ago? Ya. Ya you do."
or she will find something she isn't supposed to be doing and do it loud and proud. Today it was grabbing the pizza cutter off the table and running the blade INTO the table while Dale was talking to me and standing right in front of her cleaning off the table.
She has to be noticed. We thought it was a cry for attention from both Dale and I. Turns out it was just to get attention from one of us. Here's how that was proven.
"Daddy, why do you talk to Mommy?
Dale: "Because I want to"
Riley: No, you need to just talk to me.
There we go.....
"They" say that how children act, around the age Riley Bug is now, is a mirror image of how they act in their teenage years...
I wonder how much she will hate me then? ;)
Cant wait.

I'm Not a Baby!
So yesterday we asked Mak if she was a baby.
We got an answer as clear as day!
We couldn't believe it so just kept asking her.
We still keep asking her.
It never gets old!
See for yourself.....

Retraction
So I am a nervous talker/typer.
You have no idea how much I edit my posts. They would go on for DAYS if I didn't sit there for a while editing my thoughts.
Man I wish I could do that in real life. Edit my words after the have already exited my mouth.
Oh well.
Any way.
I did this last week.
I made that post about the Riley, the soda spill and Dale.
I owe him an apology.
A BIG ONE
I wrote that post not to convey anger but just to share a funny anecdote from my life. Something I thought was blog worthy and funny.
I am NOT a husband basher. NEVER. Never will I speak ill of my husband. Never will I outwardly express feelings of anger or frustration about my husband to any one but him. He deserves to hear how I feel and no one else. I never have and never will make my husband seem less than he is. Less loving, less intelligent, less caring or less hardworking.
I have told that story a couple times after the post and Dale always feels bad because I got a little of it wrong.
Therefore I feel bad.
He was not trying to taunt Riley. He was trying to give her a hug before she went to the table. Riley was the one who tried to turn it into a game. Riley is the one who accidentally dropped the cup after HER game got to be a little too much.
I will always stick up for Dale and I feel like I need to do that now. He feels defenseless, like I put him on the table for slaughter. I never meant to.
I felt frustrated after the "incident" haha but when I posted the story I was in a place where it had became funny and I should have conveyed that more.
I am sorry Dale. I didn't mean to make you look bad. I didn't mean for the blog to become a place to vent my frustrations about you.
I love you

This is the life.
Has this situation ever happened to you?
Me: Riley get your soda off the couch and go to the table. I don't want you to spill! (and me have to clean up)
Riley starts to head to the table and Dale starts to play a game with her. Keeping her from getting to the table.
Dale: Riley hurry Get to the table! (as he blocks her from getting there)
This happens 4 or 5 times and I realize whats happening and the second I try to stop it so the drink doesn't get spilled Dale accidentally grabs Riley the wrong way and the drink gets spilled on the carpet....
Before I have time to do anything Dale says: It was my fault don't get mad at her.
I wasn't going to...
Than Dale says : Can you clean it up. I don't know how to get that out of the carpet.
Are you freaking kidding me?

Giddy Up Little Piggies!
For the past couple weeks I have been staring at Makennas hair thinking that I needed to figure out something to do with it.
It was out of control.
See?
Ya...
So just as I had given up and had settled on the idea of a haircut i started playing with it and all if the sudden her hair was in pigtails!!!
I am DYING from her cuteness.
SERIOUSLY?!
I am SO glad I didn't chop some of it off before I figured out this was possible!
Then after I did her hair i went to go pick up Bug. I was welcomed by the dang cutest cowgirl I have ever seen!
Its out of control!
You're my favorite deputy!
I might really die from cute overload.

Movie Feater
For Christmas Dale and I received an amc gift card from my sister! We were so excited Dale and I don't make it to the movies very often (its SO hard to spend money on movies. waaay to expensive nowadays!) so when people gift us movie money its like GOLD to us.
We actually received tickets from my parents too. SO PERFECT!
So with the amc movie card we decided that we were gonna take Bug to go see tangled.
My mom watched Mak and we took Riley on a date to do her FAVORITE thing with Mom and Dad!
We went and saw Tangled!
Cutest. Movie. Ever.
Seriously.
Dale and I loved it s much we were glad we decided to go to that movie. And of course Riley had a blast!
She LOVES the movies. She is constantly asking to go to the "Movie Feater" and we almost always have to tell her no. :(
So this day we decided to surprise her. She had no idea what we were doing until we started walking up to the theater!
She could barely hold in her excitement and I wasn't even going to try to get her too! It was too cute!
This whole walk up she was jumping up and down. I tried to get one of her in the air but i could never quite get it in time!
Trying to get this girl to look straight at my camera in the first place is a serious task. There was no way i was even gonna attempt to get one when there was a massive screen in front of her face.
See not gonna happen.
She will smile though... ha!
One of our attempts to take a picture of ourselves...
We will be doing this more. We will figure it out!
I am so glad we could take Bug to see this movie! So worth it!
Plus if you go to an early showing on a Saturday the tickets are only 5 bucks and the theaters are close to empty! PERFECT!

The bed that couldn't be
So I would show you pictures but I am so frustrated right now. Plus I didn't get the "after" photo that I wanted.
I will explain.
So A lady from my M-I-L ward GAVE us these GORGEOUS matching twin captains bed for the girls.
I couldn't believe it. I was so excited to get them painted and get Riley in one of them! So last night I finally got the motivation to do it and i spent all night from the time we put the girls to bed to about 1:30 this morning painting and putting some cute touches to them.
I cut up the bed skirt (since its a captains bed and they don't need them) to put some cute fabric touches on the doors on the bottom of the bed and I had some drawer knobs that I had bought about 6 months ago that I was dying to use on the doors.
Well I get EVERYTHING done and it looks SO good (if I do say so myself) and when Dale and I tried to move it into Riley Bugs room this morning we couldn't get it in the doors!!!!!! The frame is a MONSTER and it doesn't come apart and we couldn't do anything to wedge it into her room because the hallway is too narrow. It wont fit through the windows because they are half windows and there is no way it could be turned to fit.
FRUSTRATED!
So all that work I did to realize that I cant even get it into the room. Riley was so excited and so was I.
I guess her mattress will just be sitting on the floor for another couple weeks until we figure out weather we want to cut it in half (which would make it so that it would only last so long before the whole thing would crumble out) or go buy a different one.
I have scoured (?) craigslist and there is nothing that I even remotely want on there. I am DONE with the DIY stuff for a bed.... Too upset for that. I want something I can just put together and take apart that's in great condition, that needs no work. The only thing I have found that I can afford is a cheap 30 dollar one from ikea. I am sure it works and I am just about to suck it up and do it.
So upset.

First
Well, Here is my first project for the year!
My brother has been housing Riley Bug's tortoise since we moved and Riley lately has been begging for him to come home!
My brother kept reminding me that I needed to get something to stick him on since I had no other space to put him!
Yesterday, as I was looking at goodwill for something Dale reminded me that we had a dresser in the garage that we weren't using and that it would be perfect for what we needed!
So I went to Home Depot an bought the supplies I needed to fix up the ugliest dresser in history and came home!
It was just after 7 when I started.... I started the process inside with Kilz. I just laid a very large tarp down and rolled my hand muscles away!
(My hand KILLED after..
Its been too long since I touched a rolling pin.)
Then I moved the dresser out into the freezing dark night to finish the job by spray painting!
By the time I was done my fingers had frost bite, my toes had frost bite and I think my snot turned into icicles. TMI? sorry...
But I got it all done and overnight it dried up and this is the result.
Complete with turtle and all!
Can I just say how BIG this guy is getting?!
He used to be about the size of a quarter or silver dollar and now he takes up the entire space of my palm. Its pretty cool!
Dale and I love the finished result and I cant wait to start the rest of the projects I have lined up to finish!
